Everything’s set for the draw

On 6 July, the groups for the preliminary round of the 26th IHF Women’s World Championship in Denmark, Norway and Sweden will be drawn.

The official draw takes place in Scandinavium, Gothenburg (Sweden) during the world’s largest youth handball tournament, Partille Cup.

We can now announce, that The International Handball Federation (IHF) has awarded the two wildcards available to Austria and Iceland, completing the team line-up.

A total of 32 nations participates in the championship, which begins with a preliminary round with eight groups of four teams. The top three teams in each group advance to the main round with six teams in each group – and the top two teams then advance to the quarterfinals. The eight teams that do not qualify for the main round are playing President’s Cup.

The theme of the draw ceremony will be children and young people, where the organizers of the championship aim to put future handball players in focus.

The show begins at 15:30 and lasts about 70 minutes.

Group A in Gothenburg: Sweden

Group B in Helsingborg: Montenegro

Group C in Stavanger: Norway

Group D in Stavanger: France

Group E in Herning: Denmark

Group F in Herning: Germany

Group G in Frederikshavn: Spain

Group H in Frederikshavn: Netherlands

The 26th IHF Women’s World Championship in Denmark, Norway and Sweden is set to take place between 29 November and 17 December.
